Flexible Agile Smart – Published March 2013
Call it what you will – the transformation of work and workplaces to cater for the demands and aspirations of agile flexible organisations and an increasingly mobile workforce is escalating.
The Federation of Corporate Real Estate (FCRE), the Federation of Property Societies (FPS) and The Association of Chief Estates Surveyors and Property Managers in the Public Sector (ACES) came together in 2010 to establish an internship for a research study to demonstrate the mechanics of the rationale, the implementation and the measures of success of different workplace transformation projects in the public and private sectors.
The research examined the reasons why organisations pursue a workplace transformation programme looking at the holistic process by which a workplace programme evolves through to implementation and the subsequent utilisation of the physical workspace. It concluded with the development of three scenarios summing up the motivations and benefits of three drivers of workplace transformation and the circumstances in which they apply.
